Hello, I'm Zoe and I create linocut prints in my studio in Norfolk.
I love all things linocut. I started creating linos when I was 12 and haven't stopped since! It gives my a great since of wellbeing and feel very lucky this is my job.
My main inspiration is patterns and shapes, natural or manmade. If I can see a scene, be it a townscape or botanicals, I will endeavor to recreate it.
Its all about the patterns!!
Patterns rock! When light hits an object and creates a whole myriad of patterns, I’m in my own visual heaven.
I’m fascinated with recreating patterns and shapes. I find linocut is perfect medium for this as the outcome is so definitive. I find the process of cutting lino very satisfying and peeling off the first print - a mixture of excitement and expectation.
